Made to Measure Details

All of our gowns are made to order in our Los Angeles atelier. If our standard sizing is not quite right for you, we recommended this option for many of our brides. A charge of $800 for your custom pattern will be reflected in the price when this size option is selected.

SPLIT SIZE

If your basic 3 measurements fall into more than one of our standard sizes, for example, size 6 bust, size 8 waist, and size 10 hip, we will create a pattern proportioned to your measurements.

CUSTOM SIZES

If your measurements are below our standard size 2, or above our standard size 14, please select the MADE-TO-MEASURE option for your custom pattern. Please note, wedding dress sizing runs very small. If you wear a street size 14, you may measure to a bridal 16 or 18. All of our gowns are made to order, so the size is just for our reference to ensure the best possible fit.

PETITE

If you are petite (5’5” tall or under), our MADE-TO-MEASURE option will ensure the gown is properly proportioned, and not just hemmed at the bottom.

FULL BUST

If you wear above a C cup, we can create a custom pattern to provide the fit and coverage desired.

MADE-TO-MEASURE REQUIREMENTS

Once you have spoken with our bridal stylist and determined that a MADE-TO-MEASURE gown is the best option for you, we will require some additional information from you.

  1. A full length photo in fitted clothing, perhaps a tank top and leggings, to help us achieve the best possible fit and recommendations for you.
  2. Additional measurements completed by a tailor. We will email a form for you to print and take to your tailor or seamstress.

Please understand that while our Online Stylist can offer advice to help you choose your gown and size, it is every bride's responsibility to order the correct size. Wedding dresses are made to order in our Los Angeles atelier specifically for each bride, and therefore, are not returnable. A gown can always be taken in, but not necessarily taken out, so please leave some allowance for alterations.

ALTERATIONS
All Claire Pettibone gowns (including MADE-TO-MEASURE) will require some alterations to ensure a perfect fit which can only be achieved with an experienced bridal tailor adjusting the dress with YOU in it. Alterations are not included in the purchase price, and are your responsibility. You will need to find a qualified alterations specialist in your area, and we suggest that you allow at least 2-3 months for your fittings to be completed.
